The debut MIFIC EXPO 2013 turned out to be a success
The debut Russia`s furniture suppliers exhibition MIFIC EXPO was successfully held October 8-10 in St. Petersburg, in the pavilion 5 of Lenexpo. The new project revived the North-West market that had been lacking specialised events for a long time, and reminded many the old shows of a metropolitan scale.
MIFIC EXPO resulted from the need to develop an interactive platform for negotiations between furniture industry professionals of the North-West region that ranks third in the production of furniture in Russia consistently. The MIFIC EXPO Project was held concurrently with TEKHNODREV, the exhibition of technologies, equipment and tools for forestry, logging and woodworking. Synergy of the two events brought about a significant expansion of expositions, the increase in the number of visitors and the buying potentials both for MIFIC EXPO and TEKHNODREV.
The main feature of the first exhibition was the profile of participants; the exhibitors included flagship companies of the market: Blum, SAMET, Ametist, MAKMART, Russta, Technocolor, Faeton, Akrilika and others. The MIFIC EXPO exposition comprised of novelties and modern solutions in field of furniture components and accessories – design elements, glassware, kitchen and cabinet wall systems, carved wood décor, drawer systems, lifting gear, and many more.
A trade visitor programme ensured more than 2,500 furniture production professionals - company executives, production managers, purchasing managers and designers. 'It may seem incredible, but the show exceeded our expectations. Real professionals attended MIFIC EXPO, and not only from St. Petersburg. We had business meetings with furniture manufacturers from Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Pskov and Velikiye Luki, Petrozavodsk and other cities. In general, the overall exhibition results are positive' - Oscar Vergara, General Director of BLUM summed up.
New technologies to attract professional buyers were applied to organise the debut MIFIC EXPO project. There was ZOW Club functioning in the pavilion 5 to optimize their work of professional buyers and create the most comfortable conditions for staying at the exhibition. Also, it is worth noting that as part of the new project, innovations at the show ZOW-2014 were announced to the furniture industry professionals of the North-West.
The exhibition was accompanied by a comprehensive business programme with the participation of spokespersons of the All-Russian Furniture Summit FIDEXPO. Key activities - the workshop on furniture quality inspection by Sergei Guschin, the furniture marketing workshop by Natalia Barsheva and the hands-on sales workshop by Sergei Alexandrov caused an unprecedented interest among experts from the furniture industry. As part of the business programme, Blum and MAKMART presented their innovations for the season 2013-2014.
Such a successful launch of the new project proves the need for specialised regional shows. The second edition of the Russia`s furniture suppliers exhibition MIFIC EXPO will be held in St. Petersburg on September 30 - October 2, 2014.
