Veliky Novgorod hosts interregional project Holy Russia in 5th edition
The exhibition Holy Russia is to be held from 14 to 19 September, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to celebrate the 1150th anniversary of the Russian state. The Novgorod exhibition held since 2008 is only a part of the Church and Society project in Moscow and other 8 cities of Russia and organised by the Diocese of Novgorod, Novgorod Region Administration and RESTEC® Exhibition Company. The event was discussed on August 21, 2012 at St. Yuriev Monastery at a meeting of the Organising Committee, which was attended by the Deputy Head of the Administration of Novgorod region, Alexander Smirnov, and the Metropolitan of Novgorod and Staraya Russa Lev.
The celebrating program consists of exhibiting, meeting priests and experts of education and culture, as well as panel discussions and workshops. At the embankment of Alexander Nevsky the fair will represent products from monasteries and farms of Moscow, Leningrad, Rostov and other regions. For the first time, the organisers will run a cafe serving traditional Orthodox cuisine. The other special feature is the festival of Russian sacred music which program will be expanded to include children's ensembles and choirs and invited artists from St. Petersburg.
