Malaysia My Second Home promoted with INWETEX 2012
Malaysia My Second Home Programme is promoted by the Government of Malaysia to allow foreigners who fulfill certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia for as long as possible on a multiple-entry social visit pass.
Any traveller can get a 10-year visa with opportunity to prolong it then. This offer is intended for those who are under 50 with liquid assets of 5 bln rubles and monthly offshore income of 100 thousand rubles. In fact, the program implies granting the second nationality. Now such program operates in Kazakhstan. Malaysia takes the 9th place in the world in the number of incoming tourists. However, this destination is quite new to Russia. In 2011 only, 40 thousand Russians visited Malaysia, first of all, from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk. Now we plan to actively promote Malaysia in St. Petersburg through seminars and round tables, outdoor and mass media advertising.
Alan Tseboyti, Marketing Executive, Tourism Malaysia, Malaysian Embassy in Moscow: “We have brought our handouts to INWETEX exhibition to provide information about the islands and an offer which is new to Russia – Malaysia my second home”.
Malaysia is an all-the-year-round destination where beach-related rest, eco-tourism, and diving are very popular. The most demanded place in terms of diving is Sipadan Island, where one can find turtles and reef sharks. Another place, Redang Island impresses tourists with its coral colonies. Tioman Island offers opportunities to dive in places of shipwrecks. The archipelago of Langkawi, destination which we also offer at the exhibition, includes 99 islands. Thanks to its unique land forms, Langkawi was approved by UNESCO as a geopark of global importance. Dolines, caves, arched cliffs hanging above the sea, rocks and tali are associated to the landscapes of the archipelago.
