On 25-27 June 2013 participants and visitors of the leading exhibition on technologies and equipment for forestry, logging and primary woodworking in the forest – Interles: Karelia (Petrozavodsk, Russia) will become witnesses of the world's best lumberjack show. The STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series is a series of woodsman or wood chopping competitions where the athletes compete in the use of axes and saws in manners typical for lumberjacks. It was founded in 1985, and currently include six different disciplines.
In 1985, STIHL, the owner of America's leading brand of portable tools with gasoline engines, the first time demonstrated a wide audience of traditional historical methods of harvesting, transformed into the original extreme sport. Soon after, the show gained popularity among professionals and amateurs, and began to attract the world's best athletes, loggers.
